CATEGORIES Drawing, painting, printmaking, mixed media, collage, photography, digital art, fiber art, sculpture, ceramics, and video
ELIGIBILITY
This exhibit is open to artists 50 and over. You must also be a member of CAVA. There is no specific theme, but work must have been completed within the past 2 years (no earlier than 1/1/2023).
ENTRY FEES
CAVA members may submit up to two works. Entry fee is $30.
Non-members may enter for $30, but must also pay
CAVA's annual membership fee of $50.
All fees are payable via PayPal. Use the button here to complete payment.
MEDIA REQUIREMENTS
1. All work must meet professional presentation standards.
2. 2-D work must be wired and ready for wall mounting. No alligator/sawtooth hangers.
3. 2-D work must not exceed 40 inches, in either direction INCLUDING THE FRAME.
4. 3-D work: Evanston Art Center has a supply of pedestals. All 3D work must be able to be moved by one person.
5. Work must have been completed after 1/1/2023.
6. Work may not have been shown in any previous CAVA art shows.
HOW TO ENTER
1. Use CAVA's EntryThingy online application below to enter your work.
2. Digital images should not exceed 5 mb, and be in jpg format.
3. Online submission deadline: Sunday, March 9, 2025 at 11:59 p.m.
4. Use the PayPal button here to pay the $30 Member entry fee,
OR if needed the $80 new member entry fee
($50 membership + $30 entry fee)

5. Entry fees are not refundable and acceptance into the show is not guaranteed.
IDENTIFICATION OF WORK: Affix a label on the back of your work with artist's name, title, media, price,
and contact information.
DELIVERY OF WORK:
IN PERSON: Artwork drop-off date is Wednesday, April 16, 2025 11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. at the Evanston Art Center, 1717 Central Street, Evanston, IL 60201.
SHIPPED ARTWORK: EAC will accept shipped artwork, which must be received by April 16, 2025.
Address packages to EAC, Attn. to CAVA. Packaging must be able to be reused and a return shipping label must be included. If you need to ship your work, contact us at info@wearecava.org for instructions or questions.
IMPORTANT DATES AND DEADLINES
DEADLINE TO SUBMIT ONLINE: Sunday, March 9, 2025, at 11:59 p.m.
NOTIFICATION OF ACCEPTED ARTWORK: Tuesday, April 1, 2025, by 11:59 p.m.
ARTWORK DROP OFF: April 16, 2025 11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. at the Evanston Art Center, 1717 Central Street, Evanston, IL 60201. Shipped artwork must be received by April 16, 2025.
EXHIBIT OPENS: Friday, April 19, 2025
ARTISTS' RECEPTION: Friday, April 25, 5:00–8:00 p.m.
FINAL DAY OF EXHIBITION: Sunday May 25, 2025
ARTWORK PICK UP: Before and after the CAVA Symposium:
Sunday May 25, 10:00 a.m.–12:00 noon and 3:00–3:30 p.m.
Artists are responsible for timely delivery and pick up.
All work left beyond the pick up date is subject to a $10 daily storage fee and is uninsured after 5 days.
Liabilities and Responsibilities:
Submission of work for this exhibit will be construed as acceptance of all conditions set forth in the Call for Entry. CAVA reserves the right to not display work that does not meet exhibition standards or the terms of this CFE. Reasonable precautions will be taken to safeguard artists' work from damage; however, neither CAVA nor the Evanston Art Center, nor its supporters, volunteers, subcontractors, nor any of the participating agencies or businesses will be responsible for the loss or damage of artwork for any reason. CAVA requires that all exhibitors sign and submit a release form at the drop-off provided by the Evanston Art Center;. Forms will be emailed to all accepted artists; may also be downloaded below; and will be available at the drop-off location.

Artwork Sales and Commissions: CAVA will provide to the Evanston Art Center a price list for all pieces of artwork on display in the Exhibition. The Evanston Art Center will handle sales of artwork during the exhibition dates. They will collect sales tax on the sales price and remit to the artist the sales proceeds less collected tax and commission of 35% for the Evanston Art Center.
PLEASE take the commission and sales tax into account and price your work accordingly.
